 * Thank you. Of course I can add a “shortcode” block in the Gutenberg editor and
type in something like [caption]text[/caption]. But how do I get this linked
to the image? Gutenberg editor does not provide a way to insert an image inside
   the caption shortcode.

 * Thank you for the quick answer. Sounds easy, but I don’t understand how to follow
your advice. Maybe I am blind. When I add an image block, a kind of caption is
automatically created by gutenberg, filled with the caption field from the media
database. When I manually add a shortcode block instead, where I might use the[
caption] shortcode, I cannot add an image inside this block.
