Hi James,
that seems to have been the issue, I never thought about it.
Thanks for the extensive support!Hi James,
I indeed use Local and no Flywheel hosting, our hosting provider is Combell.
When I develop a new website, I use this workflow:
- Create new website in Local
- Website development
- Create package with Duplicator and install the package on the live environment (Combell hosting)
- Install Site Kit and connect to our Google account
Hi Andreea,
Thanks for the update. Is it possible to inform me when the issue is solved? I don’t check the available updates on a regular basis since we only do a full website checkup once a year.
Best regards,
ThessaI made a screen recording so you can see the issue: https://capture.dropbox.com/uDJZ2sbG4PBxH2dv
After I deactivated the plugin, the whitespace disappears: https://capture.dropbox.com/mprQVXRjJzhBEhsg
I only have this problem in Safari, not in Chrome on my Macbook
Hi James,
There are no performance additions active at the moment, but normally we just enable GZIP compression.
I launched another website that I first set up locally with Local by Flywheel and we’re experiencing the same problem: Site Kit is connected, but I can’t find the snippet.
To troubleshoot this, I created a new website on a subdomain and installed WordPress through our hosting platform (Combell). After I installed and connected Site Kit, I was able to find the snippet in the source code.
At this moment is looks like Local makes some changed to the default setup which prevents Site Kit from working.
Hi Adam,
Google Tag Manager was already connected. I’ve tried to think this through one more time and the only think I can think of that could cause these issues is the fact that I first develop a new website locally. I use Local by Flywheel to set up a local WordPress environment, when the development is in a final stage, I then migrate the website using the Duplicator-plugin. Although I doubt that Local would make changes to the default WordPress install, this could maybe be causing these problems.
Hi James,
Thanks for looking further into this issue. I only activated gzip compression as a standard for all our websites, I deactivated it for now. We just finished a new website and tried to add Site Kit to it, but the same issue occurs: https://vdbouwvastgoed.be/

In reply to: [Animations for Blocks] Whitespace at end of pageI added 2 screenshots, one in Safari with the whitepace at the end of the page and one in Chrome like it should be.

I activated the same theme on the test site and still see the snippet: https://stage.martinvanquaquebeke.be/
I also sent you a zipped version.

In reply to: [Animations for Blocks] Whitespace at end of pageI don’t get the issue on Chrome, only on Safari
Hi James,
I followed the steps but still no snippet in the source code…
Hi James,
I created a clean WordPress here: http://stage.martinvanquaquebeke.be/
This installation is on the same hosting pack as the other website and has a fresh install directly downloaded from the WordPress-website.
On this site I can also see the developer_id, but still nothing on the real website (https://martinvanquaquebeke.be/)That’s right, Analytics is connected and snippet is enabled.

In reply to: [Gift Wrapper for WooCommerce] Gift Wrapper error – no input!Adding a price did the trick, this plugin has been active a long time on this site and I guess nobody has really used it before so the issue didn’t come up. Thanks!
