 * I turned on the WP debug (didn’t know there was one) and it’s not throwing an
   error for the same thing VS is. The content is still not showing up though. Does
   VS usually throw errors with WP functions?

 * It seems like my theme isn’t be recognized by wp as none of the functions will
   work.

 * It’s custom. I’m building it from scratch, not using one of the others as a base.

 * I’m using 4.0, I have akismet and hello dolly, but neither are active and I am
   using a custom theme. I had this problem before, so I re-installed wp and only
   kept my pages, hence why everything is very basic right now.

 * That’s all the debugger is giving me, unfortunately. There is no error showing
   on the page or in the console.
