 * Yep. Just as I suspected. I forgot to install WAMP as administrator. I’ll be
   the first to say, “it was the nut behind the wheel.”
 * Age and health had nothing to do with it.
 * Thanks for all who tried to help.

 * There’s no rhyme nor reason for it. But now that I think about it … I don’t recall
   installing WAMP as administrator. Hmmm.
 * Any help would be greatly appreciated.
 * TIA.

 * Hopefully you can help me out Cory.
 * I used duplicator to install a WP site to my localhost.
 * It all worked fine until I tried to sign in this morning. I got the site without
   signing in and no WP backend with which to manipulate settings.
 * I think all this began when I used the 3 cleanup features after copying last
   night.
 * Now I have nothing. Localhost is non-functioning. It can’t find the site and
   I’m getting Apache errors that when investigated and tried lead nowhere. I was
   going to blast the site all over again but localhost is nonoperational.
 * Cornfused in Californie.

 * sseler,
 * For what it is worth.
 * ECUK’s point was to have more than one copy of wordpress within the wamp/www
   folder. I currently have 3 copies of wp, all appended with 0, 1, etc., there
   but have not had need to use what those above have recommended. One would have
   to sign out of one working copy into another (wordpress, wordpress_0, wordpress_x).
 * But I may have need to do in the future when I upgrade my site again.

 * Just so you know, a light jQuery version of a sticky footer finally worked. It
   is by Chris Coyier, a JS wizard of sorts. However it is not without shortcomings,
   it promotes a margin-top equal to the footer’s height making it some distance
   to the footer.
 * Taking a hint from one the posters at his site I added margin-top -250px; to
   it and thought that fixed it. BUT all it did was reintroduce the original footer
   problem all over again.
 * Sigh.

 * I could still use some help with broken links to the various news articles within
   my WP site.
 * Just so you all know, I haven’t been sitting around all day. I’ve deactivated
   the plugins, changed the theme, stood on hands while I changed the Permalinks–
   several times. All to no avail. Actually all that bashed my local installation
   so badly I had to replace it with a saved copy.
 * If I can’t fix this I’m going to have to put up the HTML site again while I rewrite
   a CMS theme from the ground up. Does this mean I know something? No. I just copy
   a guy’s online work who does.
 * What I’m using is reworked underscores theme for my project. This is like send
   the whole Navy after a single boatload of Somali pirates. It’s bleeping overkill
   and complicated. Likely a termites nest where conflicts can intersect and cause
   havoc.
 * Sigh.

 * Well, I’m progressing like others I imagine. I found my own answer to this inquiry,
   from this link to a graphic I deduced I needed 4 columns to satisfy the needs
   of the SQL wp_commentmeta table.
 * [https://codex.wordpress.org/images/2/25/WP4.4.2-ERD.png](https://codex.wordpress.org/images/2/25/WP4.4.2-ERD.png)
 * I imported the database and am happily – mostly – working at home again.
 * However, just a plug for my most urgent need, I could still use some help with
   broken links to the various news articles within my WP site. I’ve deactivated
   the plugins, changed the theme, stood on hands while I changed the Permalinks–
   several times. All to no avail. Actually all that bashed my local installation

 * In particular as I begin to try to create a table it now wants to know how many
   columns. I don’t know. I think I’ll count the entries on the left hand side and
   put that in to see what happens.

 * I should have known better than to joke around on an International site. I hope
   Google Translate is accurate. Here’s what it said:
 * in good German it means “table created, if wp_commentmeta not available yet”.
   So, you must check whether the table wp_commentmeta already exists in your database.
   Can you recommend any import tables from your database manually delete and then
   again try to restore.
 * Is that correct? Because from what I read it seemed like a certain table was
   missing and it wouldn’t import the previous database.
 * How might one precisely do that without too much trouble, Freund? In the meantime,
   I’ll attempt to do what you said.

 * Sterdata, I tried your unique approach from Walton’s page and nothing. The same
   problem persists.
 * I tried it locally and didn’t put it up at the site.
 * I’m double darned reasonably sure that I’m fighting something in the PHP code
   of the theme. Using Walton’s fix it was easy to just put the class in the <body
   <?php body_class( ‘site’ ); ?>> tag like so.
 * I watched everything operate through Inspect Element to no avail.
 * I appreciate your input also.
 * Thanks.
 * There’s just one trick left and its JS. The other option is a real production
   effort using JQuery.
 * But I gotta get that footer down in its place.

 * Andrew, the one you propose is something like the traditional version that I’ve
   tried. I even found and tried one that uses a pusher div. No joy.
 * I appreciate you dropping in and your effort.
 * Thanks.
