    Hi @theronb,

    Can you tell me more about what isn’t working for you? Assuming your meetings manager has their own login, what role have you given them? As long as it is editor they should be able to change meeting information even if they weren’t the one who initially entered the meeting? At least on my dev system, I don’t see any reason to change the name in the editor field.

    Am I misunderstanding the problem you’re facing?

    Yeah. I’ve had some cases where just changing the URL in the settings was sufficient, and others (hosting service included) where I needed to search for links to change. And just recently on my own dev server, I had to go into the database to change a reference for the meetings page.

    Simply, plugins as suggested can help, but they may not always be conclusive. Best to test test test, and be prepared to search the database to change any final things.

    Hi @marekmierzwa,

    Correct, Group phone/email is displayed because the expectation is that groups would have that information public so they can be reached.

    Individual contacts (i.e., Person with their phone/email) is kept private unless you explicitly make it public.

    If you want to manage Group phone/email information privately, then I suggest using the Contact lines for that information when it needs to be kept private. You don’t even have to fill out the Name field, just the phone/email. Above that, you only fill out the information you can allow to be publicly seen.

    Hi @osnicky59,

    That is a WordPress/site issue for which the plugin’s data (like other plugin data) can be affected.

    To get you started, one would normally go into Settings –> General and update the site and WordPress URL fields. If you’re lucky, that will be enough. If not, you’ll have to work other steps. I suggest using your favorite search engine to help after that.

    Hmmm. I’m not sure I’m following you regarding what you’re trying to accomplish. You want to edit the notes for meeting? I think most people are putting the kind of information you seem to be talking about (Room #s, building directions, etc) in the Notes field. Location is typically used for the name of the location (eg. First Lutheran Church of Manchester).

    You should be able to simply edit the information and republish. Is that not working?

    The database for WordPress doesn’t care about which program is being observed.The plugin only cares that the fields used in the csv file match the specification (if they’re used or required).

    You are correct that lexicon matters for us humans trying to understand what data needs to be put in a particular field. 🙂 In AA speak, a group is a service structure the manages the business of one or more meetings. These groups are a part of districts; these are also service structures, made up of those groups. That is why group information needs to be filled out in order to assign a meeting to a district. Since a spreadsheet (csv file in this case) is not a relational database, each row has to include all the information for the entry in the database. But this should be a one time import once you have everything right. At some point it likely may become easier to just make the edits/tweaks using the plugin’s admin interface. However, that is not always the case.

    If you send me the addresses I’ll try to look at a few of them. And if you send me the final csv file you used, I’ll try importing that into my test system to see what errors I get.

    I’m glad you got it to work. I think trying Mapbox for displaying meetings is generally a good idea.

    I have no idea why there may have been a conflict between your API key and the plugin’s address look up feature. If your API key is locked down in Google’s console, that could be why you’re seeing weirdness. If it is, make sure it is open to the regular IP address you have for your website.

    Sounds like the basic issue is resolved?

    I want to clarify one point. Only Google’s address lookup is currently used by the plugin to resolve addresses for entry into the database. We may change this is the future, but this is currently the case as Google’s data seems to be the most complete and accurate.

    However, this does not mean it is perfect. But, given the tens (if not hundreds) of thousands of addresses we have for meetings, the failure rate is really quite low. The majority of problems we see are because a local community knows the meeting site as at a given address and Google sees it as slightly different. Who is correct? It isn’t always clear, but if we can make the plugin do what we need it to do by using Google’s address, nobody should be any the wiser. Make sense?

    For the very small number in which Google is clearly wrong, the plugin allows you to manually code an override to the address. Please see the FAQ on how to do this. In the end, I’m confident this may not be required at all, or at most a couple of times. At least, that has been our experience so far.

    As far as your suggestion, would you please come over to our dev site and start an issue–>feature request to more fully explain what you’re looking for?

    I’m confident the plugin will work. We have a lot of people using it successfully today.

    Again, the most common problem we have faced when people do have issues getting meetings to publish is the address. If you send me the address you’re trying to use, I’ll test it on my system which should tell us if it is a problem with the address or a problem with the hosting platform or configuration.
