The newer gutenberg-style pages use the WordPress REST API to retrieve the list of patterns, the older WP admin page doesn’t use the REST API (I expect it uses WP Query directly). * I’ve seen in the past some users have issues with the REST API when they have a firewall setup too aggressively, so that could be something to check. * You can also check the network requests in your browser dev tools to see what happened to the request for patterns. From what I understand, the button block should already behave like that, not showing in the frontend of your site when there’s no button text. In PHP, you can use `get_post( $context[ 'postId' ] )`. * For the JS part, the way I’d recommend is `useEntityProp( 'postType', postType, property , postId )`, which provides an API for both reading from and writing to the properties of a post. If a block references a parent that’s not within the plugin then it should also be considered top-level. * I’d suggest commenting on the tickets mentioning your issue.
