The main site is still running at brinkster (don’t use mysql) and linking to a2hosting for the blog part. Planning to move a second blog application today. I have the discount offer at a2hosting, the least expensive with a 5.x mysql server. I can’t depend on Brinkster any more. I have contacted two hosting providers but I want to be sure that their mysql server has the innodb engine running and the infamous no_backslash thing is not enabled. Config.php has only 46 lines of code. Line 47 was an extra blank line. Backslash becomes a normal character rather than an escape character when that flag is set. This will cause queries to fail, as you have found out. * Good, now I know what the problem is. We just patched a security hole within MySQL yesterday and WordPress seems to not like the fix. When I reactivate the deactivated plugins this one gets deactivated. Sort of a toggle switch. Is that the way it should happen? Please advise.
