I just wanted to know if Relevanssi somehow would not - allow- post_format in $query->set, as it currently seems to do with post_mime_type. That tells me what direction to go down. But for whatever reason, we’ve actually been getting page results under 2 seconds so we’re happy to keep doing what we’re doing for a while. As you know, a lot of query optimisation happens under the hood. I’m just assuming that a cleaner ‘looking’ SQL expression will yield a faster result–which may not be true. I’m just planning ahead simple we have over 400,000 records. For some context, we have a library of thousands of documents, JPGs, DOCS, PDFs, XLS, etc., all with very similar keywords. It is essential that people be able obtain subsets by mime type. That said, is it possible to pass a variable from my ‘master’ search function -into- a ‘relevanssi_where’ function rather than depend on the $REQUEST? However, if it’s possible for ‘Free’ users to make requests, I would ask that this be a checkbox in the admin. * Perhaps we’re different from most users. Our site is a library. The site in question has thousands of images that we use/re-use all over the place. The images are either ‘free-standing’ or used in posts, but we generally don’t upload an image unless it is considered ‘public’. That is why I -assumed- that a post parent was irrelevant. (little joke there.) 😀 * For us to track which images have been used in Draft posts and which have not would be impossible. * If there is an easy way for our editors to mark the few attachments we -do- wish to keep private as “private” that would be good. I’m sure I can figure a scheme, but if you have a built-in Relevanssi function, other than the Exclude List, I’d appreciate it. * Thanks again. PS…. FWIW, the reason we use the Free version is that we’re a non- profit. We actually operate about a dozen related sites–but it’s not using WordPress MultiSite–they’re all on separate accounts. We could afford Relevanssi for -one- site but never all of them. So we decided to go ‘Free’ rather than have to maintain different versions of code. If there was a way to get a ‘bulk’ license we would very much like to know about it. Most vendors don’t seem interested in that, I assume being concerned about piracy, but if that were ever an option, please shoot me an email. * FWIW, Relevanssi was a gamechanger for us and you’ve done the world some real good by offering the Free version. However, I have switched themes to a default WordPress theme ( eg. 2017 and 2023) and they also misbehave. So it’s not my theme. * Do you have any further suggestions on how to troubleshoot? Could it be FileBird?
