 * Yes that is what I mean by gallery, but by ‘gallery view’ I ment when you click
   on one of those images and only one image is displayed.
    I’m not a native english
   speaker and have been WP user only for 10 months, so, sorry if i misspeak in
   terms a little..
 * And I’m not using any shortcode (between the square brackets), if that’s what
   you mean.
    If I want to embed a gallery into my post or page I just click a little
   green icon (labelled: Attach NextGEN Gallery to Post) in the editor menu and
   this adds the following code to the post: `<img class="ngg_displayed_gallery
   mceItem" src="http://mysite.net/nextgen-attach_to_post/preview/id--1460" alt=""/

 * Another question about NextCellent:
    I installed NextCellent, turned NextGen
   off, turned NextCellent on, and… it says, it needs a database update. I did not
   do it, so NextCellent did not work, it is understandable. The question is: is
   it safe to do the database update? ..because maybe I want to go back to NextGEN
   for some reason and if Nextcellent screws up the database with this update then
   what? Does the update change any value in the original NextGEN database? I’m
   running 2.0.66.33 version of NextGEN atm.
 * btw, thank you for your input niknetniko!

 * In gallery management window beside images there are two text fields described
   as “Alt & Title Text / Description”. Upper one contains one line for text, lower
   contains multiple lines (bigger text box).
    In my case the upper text box “alt&
   title” is filled with file name (without extension) and this text is displayed
   under the images, when viewed as gallery. I need to get rid of this text. I know
   that I could edit the plugin code, but with google search I haven’t found the
   exact “code lines” that I should delete. I have found some descriptions for older
   plugin versions, but the code is different in my vers. so I really don’t know
   which lines I should delete from plugin source. And that would be really only
   a hack that eliminates the field display from all galleries on my site globally…
   but maybe I need those fields displayed in the future for some gallery.. so,
   changing the code this way isn’t really a good option.. ..which brings me back
   to my original question.. does Nextcellent support disabling of those fields?
   The PRO version of nextgen has this feature available.

 * Hi,
 * Thanks for your answer!
    I need to disable Alt/title tags in gallery view/slideshow
   view/whenver. I’m not using Nextgen to display separate images, only if there
   are about 5 or more images grouped to a gallery, then I’m using Nextgen to display
   the gallery. And there should be no text under (or over) the images. Pictures
   must be diaplayed clean, without any text. By default the description field,
   when left blank, is filled with file name.
 * I have tested two plugins (“Media File Manager” and “Media File Manager Advanced”)
   that promised to arrange files in WordPress media library into separate folders.
   This is just what I need. Unfortunately, neither worked correctly – didn’t display
   file names afrer moving/copying aso..
    There are about 200 photographs displayed
   on my website today. If I take some 3-4 hours, then I could even download/republish
   those from zero. But before doing that, I must have a better solution for future
   arrangement of media files. Grouping files based on Categories or Tags isn’t
   what I need.. I want to be able to keep different galleries in different folders.
   Sounds pretty simple to me.. Maybe because I’m not WP pro 🙂 Google has been
   my friend for over 15 years, sometimes I feel better talking to real people instead
   🙂
