In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] Short code for urlHi,
I’m not sure where you want the shortcode for. The results are stored in the post content.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] LinkedIn Is Not Being ParsedHi,
When attempting to link to that URL I get the top level links, like they are blocking deeper links.
I’ll have a deeper look when I get the chance. I’m just fed up with the daily spam that they send me, so I’ll be honest and say that it’s not the first thing on my list. Sorry.

Please provide a specific link that does not work so that I can try to reproduce the issue. Thanks.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] Favicon Next to TitlesHi,
I’m likely (probably) not gonna mess with favicons, but I’ve just pushed 1.6.0 which has new settings to allow the main h2 and/or the image to be links.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] Image Size AdjustmentHi,
The image size would be handled with CSS as it’s a remote image and not stored on your server. The default CSS code is a few versions old, but just (in Chrome) right click and “inspect” to get the image class, then apply the settings you want in the CSS. E.g.
p.imgp img {
max-width: 50%;
height: auto;
}This will depend on your site design, layout, etc. But the plugin generates consistent classes and structures that you can style in your CSS. If other CSS is conflicting, you may need to add an “!important” override.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] How to not retrieve image.Hi,
I only “took over” this module as it was abandoned but I needed it to work for me. I’m no expert on WP. I just fix what I can, when I can. I prefer other CMS’, which are my day job. I’m just happy to make this module do what it can, where I can, for whomever needs it.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] How to not retrieve image.Try v1.5.8 when it updates. I’ve added some suppression options to remove the image and intro and to allow you to change the default link text.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] Plug in no longer workingHi,
I have to say that it’s magic π
I updated the readme file to indicate that I’d tested on 4.8, but no code was changed. Just glad it’s working for you.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] Featured ImageHi,
Nothing is downloaded per se. The image in the post is still linked to the origin server.
As the original image is likely licenced to or copyrighted by the original site I wouldn’t download it. However, I’ve seem other plugins which allow you to do this if you wish.
In terms of displaying the linked image on, for example, an index page, you could modify your template to parse the post content for images if there is no featured image set. I did this a couple of site template versions ago, but haven’t got it on my current template.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] Plug in no longer workingHi,
I just upgraded to 4.8 and it worked. (There was also a TinyMCE Advanced upgrade that ran too.)
I tried both TinyMCE buttons and media button mode, and both parse modes, and it worked in all instances.
What settings to you have?

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] Button doesn’t show up in custom post typeHi,
The “Button location” setting in the Z-URL settings.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] Button doesn’t show up in custom post typeHi,
I don’t use custom post types but some of the invocation seems to be dependant upon where TinyMCE is used. First thing I’d try is changing the button location in the settings, e.g. from TinyMCE to media button row, or visa versa.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] Plug in no longer workingSorry, I’ve not had chance to upgrade to 4.8 or to test yet. I will do as soon as I can. It may be this weekend if work allows.

In reply to: [Z-URL Preview] Go behind Cookie-WallHi,
I just tested https://tweakers.net/reviews/5401/android-wear-20-zelfstandiger-volwassener-en-complexer.html and got the correct title, image and intro.
The EU cookie message at the top of the page was skipped completely.
When viewing the page there was no “wall”, just the message at the top of the page.
