So what I did was setting the number of emails to be sent out with the snippet referenced above initially to 15 then further down to 10. Even with 10, I still had to restart the sending process by rescheduling the time for the Digest to be sent out – once I do the remaining messages in the queue are being sent. As you can see in the logs below, initially the process sent quite a lot of emails (like 400) and each time the rescheduled amount of batches that were sent successfully decreased. * Now you could argue that’s a server issue and I can see that when I rescheduled the process, the ram load eventually got close to my limit of 1536 MB, as did eventually the CPU load. But I still think it’s irritating that on my previous setup with less resources it worked better than on the new setup?! Also, I have no issue sending out my newsletter via a different plugin which goes to 2500 subscribers rather than the digest which goes to 1300 users. Any suggestion on what to do? How do I set the value correctly so I can experiment with lower times?
