Thanks for the advice! I’ll check into other options for queuing.

There is a fix that might help some of you. I had the same problem, and it ended up being a conflict with a caching plugin (W3 Total Cache). To fix it, go into W3TC’s Page Cache settings. In the Advanced section, go to the ‘Never cache the following pages’ option and type in something like this (where ‘myloginpage’ is the page you set in iThemes):
/myloginpage
This will keep W3TC from caching your login page. The login was probably failing because you hit a cached PHP page the first time you try to log in.

Matt(edited post above to fix a mistake in the W3TC setting)
Hi Gerroald,
Okay, after seeing this same issue, I think I figured it out (at least for our site). If you have w3 Total Cache installed along with iThemes Security, and you enable the ‘hide backend’ feature in iThemes, you will get this problem. To fix it, go into W3TC’s page cache settings. By default, W3TC does not cache any .php pages in any folder starting with “wp-“. However, since the backend has been rewritten, you need to tell W3TC not to cache the new login address. In the ‘Advanced’ section of the Page Cache settings, there is a ‘Never cache the following pages’ option. Add something like the following in this section (where ‘mysecretaddress’ is the login page you set in iThemes):
/mysecretaddress
Hope this helps!

In reply to: Users with custom roles not showing up in dropdownOkay, found a dated plugin that sort of fixed this (http://wordpress.org/plugins/custom-roles-for-author/). It adds our faculty members to the dropdown list, but now our admins don’t show up! Not the end of the world, though, since most of the content that we need to change the author for are non-admin users. Still, this whole issue really seems to be a strange glitch in the program.
I guess, if I ever need to make an admin the post author, I could either a.) do it directly in the database or b.) turn off the plugin (which would remove everyone except the admins/editors from the list).
Anyway, hope this might help anyone else who runs into this issue.

In reply to: [Plugin: WP Photo Album] IE 8 slideshow problemOkay, it was the filmstrip navigation bar that was causing the problems. I just turned it off and enabled the ‘invisible navigation’ on the full-size pictures, so that should do okay for now. Not perfect, but it works. Has anyone else noticed this problem with the filmstrip navigation in IE 8?
