    Hi Kayli,

Thanks for taking the time to report those limitations here.

Here is how our plugin works (and most other Popup plugins): when your website first loads, our plugin, Popups for Divi, is checking the contents of your page and attaches itself to relevant elements (i.e. gallery images or blog post items). This is what allows the popups to display when you first click on the images.

However, when you click on one of the categories (like “Creative” or “Websites”), the gallery- or blog-module uses a JavaScript to modify the content of the current page: It shuffles the images around, and filters what you see. Unfortunately, our plugin isn’t currently able to re-attach itself after those modifications.

It’s like a seating plan: When the page loads, our plugin knows where all the “people” (i.e. images) sit and which Popup is linked to them. But when the visitor filters the gallery, it’s like the people switch seats or leave the room – our plugin loses track of which guest is linked to which Popup.

This is a known limitation of our plugin, and we’re looking into ways to improve this. For now, though, the popups will work best with static images that aren’t shuffled around after the page loads.

I hope that helps! Let me know if there’s anything else you’re curious about.

    Hi @agave1

After reviewing the Mailer Lite plugin in more detail, it turns out that it’s not really a bug or conflict between Mailer Lite and Popups for Divi, but rather a limitation of our free plugin:

Mailer Lite creates the signup form dynamically (via JavaScript) after the page loaded.

Such dynamic elements are not supported by Popups for Divi, but require Divi Areas Pro: After installing the premium plugin, all Popups will instantly support dynamic content without any further changes.

Since upgrading to Divi Areas Pro is not possible due to your budget, you can review your Mailer Lite form and see if there is a way to insert a “static form” (maybe there’s an option for that, you could also reach out to their support).

A more “Divi-ish” solution would be to remove the Mailer Lite form and instead use a Divi “Opt-In Module”. You can link your Opt-In module to the Mailer Lite account → https://www.elegantthemes.com/integrations/mailer-lite/

Please keep me updated on how this goes. Also, let us know if there’s anything else that you need help with.

p.s. as this is no bug, but a known limitation of our free plugin, I’m going to mark this thread as resolved for now. In case you feel the issue needs to be reviewed again, don’t hesitate to re-open this conversation

Hi @mcanous2023 – I can see the issue that @mrrohitbhardwaj demonstrates in the screen recording. Unfortunately, the relevant website (or demo page) is no longer accessible for us, so I cannot help you in debugging the issue directly.

It appears that there’s a Popup trigger on your page that fires on every click. This could be either an unintended setting in Divi (possibly a “section URL” or “row URL” value), or maybe custom JS code that you’ve added somewhere.

I’d love to help you debug and fix that issue, but I need access to the website again for this.

    Thanks! Philipp

    Hi Hannah!

Thank you for pointing out that issue and providing the URL for me to review. I could pinpoint the issue and will start working on an update to address that issue in the coming days.

Look out for version 1.0.8, which will fix this problem for you.

    Thanks, Philipp

    Hi @losthope

thanks for bringing that issue to our attention, and my apology for missing your message for so long.
I’d love to have a look at this error and see how we can address it in our plugin – I’d greatly appreciate if you can provide a URL to a demo page/staging site where I can see the error on the front-end.

    Thanks, Philipp

    Hi @daymakerdigital

Yes – I’m using the plugin on a multisite network (activated network wide) and it’s working identical to a single site installation:

    * Each site in the network will start to download external files automatically
    * The local cache is stored in the respective sites “uploads” folder (there’s no overlapping between sites)
    * Each site only maintains assets that are used by that site.

There is NO network-wide overview, or “Purge All Sites” function in the plugin.

    Thanks 🙂 Philipp

Thanks for your feedback @marcdk 👍

I’ve tested that workflow and find it rather complex to adjust the title; every author needs to perform multiple new steps in every blog post

    1. Hiding the default TOC title
    2. Adding a new H2-block above the TOC
    3. Setting the CSS class of the new H2 block to “simpletoc-hidden”

We have multiple authors of varying WordPress skill-level, so I want to keep the process as straightforward as possible.

→ I’ve gone ahead and created a pull-request for your plugin that streamlines this process, as the TOC title can be customized via the block properties.

    https://github.com/mtoensing/simpletoc/pull/19

I think this change is a great addition to your plugin without adding any complexity. The title is escaped, has the correct header-level (h2), and always defaults to “Table of Contents” when left empty.

    Hi Stephan,

I’m terribly sorry for missing your support requests and not jumping in earlier. I can completely understand your frustration about our radio silence.

Divis Summer Sale generated a surge in support requests, while personal issues prevented me from working for a few weeks. Finally, we’re catching up with support requests and fixing compatibility issues in our plugin.

I’ll reply to your messages via the private support system.

For the records: Stephan is using Divi Areas Pro, and the problems described here do not apply to Popups for Divi.

    Hi @sandergoo

Can you double-check that you’re using version 3.0.3 of Popups for Divi?

The new WP Rocket setting was addressed in that previous release and is working correctly on our test sites.

Of course, you need to clear your caches after updating the plugin, but I guess you’ve already done that anyway.

In case you use version 3.0.3 and still experience issues, please let me know again. Ideally, also share your website URL, so I can see the issue first-hand.

Thanks and have a great day. Philipp 🙂

    Hi @hammadjoshi

Thanks for pointing this out. We have not used the Divi Timer Pro or Divi Countdown modules yet, but I can see how they are integrated on your test-page.

Those timers/countdowns are generated via JavaScript, and are considered “dynamic” content. Those dynamic parts are not supported by the free plugin, but will work with Divi Areas Pro.

Here is a link to our knowledge base article about dynamic content inside Popups:

I hope that helps 🙂 Philipp

    Hi @dancappdesign

Can you attach (some) error messages that you get? I’ve tested Popups for Divi 3.0.3 together with Divi 4.9.9 and did not see any JS errors, nor a PHP warning/error on our systems.

In case you see JS errors, the most likely issue is a caching plugin that still serves outdated JS files:

If you use a caching plugin (like WP Rocket or SG Optimizer), and experience problems after a plugin update, please flush all caches and try again. This will solve any cache-related issues.

    Thanks, Philipp

    Hi @zebulan

Thanks for reporting that issue and for debugging the warning.

I have to admit that we did not test our plugin in PHP 8 yet – we tested PHP 8 about 3 months ago and found some plugins/themes (like Divi) that threw errors, warnings, and notices. Even today, Divi does not seem 100% compatible with PHP 8.

But I get your point. We’ll test our plugin and fix any PHP 8 issues that show up. That warning will be solved in the next release.

Thanks, and happy Popup-ing 🙂 Philipp

    Hi @joanplanas

According to the “Delay Script Execution” documentation, they have changed the internal behavior of that feature recently (from what I can see they changed it since version 3.9, about one month ago)

I’ve checked the HTML source of your website, and can see the differences between our implementation and what WP Rocket 3.9 is actually doing.

We can address this new WP Rocket behavior in our plugin to ensure the relevant Popup script is loaded correctly (i.e., not delayed). Most likely, we will fix this compatibility issue in a small update in the coming week.

Thanks for using Popups for Divi!

    Hi @simonreading

Thanks for reporting those errors. We have addressed that problem in the recent plugin release: When you update to version 3.0.2 those errors are gone and everything will work again!

Thanks, and happy Popup-ing 🙂 Philipp

Thanks for sharing the URL @joanplanas

I’ve had a look at the website and everything works fine from the “Popup perspective”: The scripts are loaded in correct order and the Popup opens when I click on the red button.

BUT the Popup only contains a single, empty div, and therefore only the close button is visible.

That empty div container is possibly a placeholder for a dynamically loaded content block. Unfortunately, there are some limitations when using dynamic content inside Popups. Note that “dynamic” means, that the form has some JavaScript logic. You can find more information on the problem and possible solutions in our knowledge base article here: https://help.divimode.com/article/421-dynamic-content-in-free-popup

I hope this helps you to solve the issue – generally, you have three options:

    1. Do not use that survey form inside a Popup
    2. Upgrade to Divi Areas Pro
    3. Convert the survey JS to run during the "show_area" action, as showcased in the knowledge base article above.

Thanks, and happy Popup-ing 🙂 Philipp
