 * Thank you for your reply but i have discovered the reason for the thumbnails 
   not updating.
 * I reduced the size of my photos down to under 2000 pixels and now thumbnails 
   update for me.
 * originally i had 6000×5000
 * It is now just 1920×1080.
 * Thanks for your help though :).
