I had disabled the Braintree plugin by renaming the folder because deactivating the plugin in the WordPress dashboard wasn’t changing anything. Once I did that, the plugin was disabled and the site would load properly, although I didn’t have any payment capabilities. Today, I activated the Braintree plugin by renaming the plugin folder back to its original name and the site worked fine. I have no idea why. So we need to find a hosted chat option. When you say add it “somewhere” where would be the best place to add it? I am hosted on Site5 and installed WordPress 3.0.3 using Fantastico. I can view the site files using Filezilla and I can see that the WP files are indeed on the server.
