If you want to test and report findings back, that would be good. It would be a whole lot better than blind conjecture, here, to have the core fixed properly.
Another reminder, if this is a bug in WordPress (which I am fairly certain it is), please add your evidence to the bug report at https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/36534 so that it will be appropriately addressed.
