    1. We would review why CVE-2014-9473 was not found in our database and release an update in the coming month (incl other vulnerabilities too).

    2. Good point.
We have a work in progress new UI (including settings page) and real time updates via email, which we are also aiming to deliver in a month and we will review this idea with our designers and team.

    Thanks for the feedback!

We’d googled a bit and … we’re not really happy with the approach you are having towards sites/services/plugins which are somehow in a competition with the ones provided by your company.

As a result of your actions, a lot of people would be misguided and in a risk of NOT using plugins, services, sites or other companies, which can help them mitigate risk for their websites.

It is VERY misleading to just say: “Hey, you don’t have data for those X plugins”.
The importance and the value of our plugin (and dataset) can’t be measured by just checking X plugins.

Last, but not least. This behaviour (randomly posting “this does not work! stop using it!” for 3rd party plugins and sites (from what we’d seen by simply googling “White Fir Design”) that are a competition to your plugins and services with the idea to advertise your own product is a very, very, very childish, misleading for the users and unprofessional.

    Nice overview guys.
Thanks for the time spend to look into our code 🙂

A quick answer. Yes – currently we are not providing updates to our database, because of major upgrade in our service and plugin.
Our goal is to double the number of vulnerable plugins data that we’d captured…however, as mentioned on our plugins info page – for a *FREE* plugin, this is a major effort and that’s why we had delayed the delivery of the new set of data and our newest versions.

Oh and last but not least, our site is with lowest priority. Gathering vulnerable plugins, organizing them and testing our plugins is always and always would be first. So, no – our website would not get any new stuff, until we get our main plugin to a state which it is used, working perfectly and creating value for users.

    Thanks again!

Our plugin only reads some data for the installed plugins on your website.
It has nothing to do with htaccess OR it can conflict with better-wp-security.
So unless, you can give us a bit more information on what exactly happened, we can assume that this was related to other plugin (that changed your htaccess) or a conflict of something else with better-wp-security.

    Hi Ramonjosegn,
We’d improved our plugin and released a small (but helpful) update in version 2.2 that may had caused a problem, similar to yours.

Can you please install/update to the latest (2.2) version and confirm if you are still experiencing the same problem?

    Thanks!

    Hi again ramonjosegn,
He’d tested again the plugin on Firefox (and Chrome) with the listed plugins that you had sent us plus the top40 used plugins and we’d no luck to have the plugin in a non-working state.
The last thing that we can do is, if you feel comfortable, to login to your WordPress admin and check what’s going on.
If you are ok with that, can you contact us: support@sitecops.com with a temp admin username, password and URL of your site, so that we can debug your specific site situation.

PS: For now, we are marking this as resolved, since from our tests it should be working just fine in the general case.

    Thanks,

Ah, there is no edit functionality in here…
Can you also share which browser and version are you using?

    Thanks!

    Hi ramonjosegn,
Can you tell us what version of WordPress are you using, so that we can replicate and test the plugin in the exact same environment as yours?

    Thanks,
