 * BTW, my comment rating plugin threw out this message in the control settings,
   does that give any information as to my issues?

 * Could it be something with the .htaccess file? Would that cause some plugins 
   to work and not others?
 * My website domain takes me to the wordpress folder, which is within another folder.
   So instead of the domain name’s physical path point to “/wordpress” it points
   to “/foldername/wordpress”

 * Yeah no go.
 * As for the 500, that’s what I was afraid of… talk about opening a whole can of
   worms. Are there any common causes for a 500 in this case?

 * 1. It is 766. 🙂 At least one thing is right!
    2. Manual uploads are no better,
   wordpress recognizes it in the plugin menu, but when i click to activate it I
   get a 500 error. If i attempt to look at it in the editor, there is nothing there.
