 * I was just thinking i can probably just remove plugins from the menu all together,
to stop clients automatically adding and removing plugins in a production environment,
then they wont be able to update them that way either.

 * I’m trying it now and on WordPress 3.8 seems to be working ok.
 * Only reason I want to disable updates is so I can use GIT and not have updates
   done in production.
 * Even though this plugin is installed the user could potentially still go to the
plugins and select update from the menu couldn’t they?
