 * It worked fine on my server an on several blogs and then just stopped. Must be
   related to update of some kind. Sounds like developer has no answers. Is there
   another plugin that does work?

 * Ladies and Gentlemen we have a winner.
    Google Map!!! I turned it off and nextGen
   went from a naked tag to a gallery.

 * I had the same problem. WP puts that tag into the page body presumably to trigger
   something. All you see is the tag itself displayed instead of the gallery.
