i has the same problem. i restored the data base and core files (1.5) and upgraded from 1.5 to 2.0.2 first. Then i upgraded from 2.0.2 to 2.1 and it works fine!
note: 2.1 requires PHP version 4.2 or greater, and MySQL version 4.0 or greater!

Ajd777, thanks for the idea -your anthology of ideas :P-. So, it´s possible!!! That´s good news! In the other hand, we never create a plugin before and don´t know how to do it. Can you help us a little more? 🙂
I think that Dougal used a similar solution, but his redirector works from MyPHPBlog to WordPress permalinks only 🙁
Anyway, we are still looking for a way to do this (we have some limitations) Thanks for your answer! some other humanitarian help? xD
