 * OK
    I’ve got a temporary fix to this. By reverting back to an earlier version
   of the theme. Using my hosting providers web based file manager (from cPanel)
   1. I renamed the x2 theme as “x2-renamed” 2. Then on one of my other installations
   using the theme x2 v1.7.0 copied the entire themes/x2/ folder over to the site
   with the issue.
 * I can now get back into my website.
    Hope this help someone else to rescue a
   website after an unsuccessful theme upgrade.
 * Any help in understanding what went wrong with the 1.7.0 to 1.7.1 upgrade of
   x2 Theme would be appreciated.
 * Thank you
    Steven

 * Try looking at the bottom right of the edit post page, there’s an option to set
   featured image for this post. The x2 theme then picks this up and uses it in
   the slider. you may want to take off the picture you added to into the post body
   if you get 2 pictures showing.

 * The more I look into this and play around I believe it to be an access permissions
   issue with the web server. links are correct just the pages don’t display. Only
   the front page works.
 * I’m thinking along the lines of webserver access permission or file permissions
   within the wordpress folders on /var/www/html/

 * I’ve done a bit more digging.
    When clicking on a menu item the page url box
   on the web browser changes to the correct page_id= for the menu item selected,
   BUT the displayed page doesn’t change. It jsut displays the same page that is
   identified in the “frontpage” option.
