 * Do you have a note of the IP ranges connections would be coming from so I can
   check and see if they are even hitting the firewall?
 * [@s3marketing](https://wordpress.org/support/users/s3marketing/) – don’t mean
   to hijack your post, just seemed silly creating a separate thread for the same
   issue

 * Jeremy, I’ve been having the same issue also on both sites I have since the auto
   update feature was introduced.
 * I’ve set the log level on the webserver into debug so it captures everything,
   and no issues are coming back. When I try to look at plugins from wordpress.com,
   I don’t get any connection attempts in the logs, so it looks like its not even
   reaching the site. There are no network ACL’s on port 80. The only ACL in place
   is an IP rule configured to restrict wp-admin folder to a specific range, but
   I have opened this up but still get the same issue. It seems as if it’s not even
   attempting to connect. I’ve verified xmlrpc.php access is also unrestricted.
