 * [@devnihil](https://wordpress.org/support/users/devnihil/) I reinstalled 14.0.2
   before 14.0.4 was released, and that seems to have fixed it. I also installed
   14.0.4 when it was released, and it continued working.

 * I just tried doing the update again through the normal WordPress Update page,
   then I tried activating it (14.0.2), and it seems to have worked. Everything
   appears functional now.

 * Yeah, after renaming the directory back to ‘wordpress-seo’, I now see an alert:“
   An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update
   again now.”
 * When I go to the Plugins page to try to reactivate 14.0.1, I get:
 * Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.
 * Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘Yoast_Alerts’ not found in /home/USER/WEBSITE.
