 * Ok, never really did figure out the real reason why this broke, other than the
fact that I removed wp-super-cache in the worst way possible. I upgraded from
2.7.1 to 2.8.4 and voila, everything is back to normal.

 * Thanks Shane, the problem is I can’t actually get into the plugins area via the
admin to disable anything. I don’t think it’s a plugin conflict as everything
was playing nicely together before wp-super-cache got involved and I ripped it
out in the worse way possible (deleted the folder).
 * The only reason the plugins are even functioning at this point is because I added
them back into the active_plugins row in the database.
 * I’m tempted to upgrade but this is a live site and it scares me to have it blow
up again after such a late night last night. I think I’m going to install a second
WP, feed it the same database and slowly migrate everything over. Then migrate
it back to the root when I’m convinced everything is kosher.

 * Yeah, I noticed the same problem. Here’s what I do:
 * 1) make all the changes/additions you want in visual mode and save the widget.
 * 2)Edit the widget again, only this time look at in HTML mode, and save it. (you’ll
notice all the tags are there)
 * 3) Commit your changes and it should work.
 * Long story short is line breaks don’t seem to “stick” when you commit your sidebar
changes in visual mode. Hopefully this and a few other bugs will get fixed in
an update. I’d certainly be willing to donate some paypal to get it done…

 * I got it working in IE6/PC. I added the # of widgets I needed then switched back
to Firefox 3 to do the editing. Sort of a pain but at least it’s possible to
   get it working.

 * So what’s the word? Is Register Plus not compatible with 2.7.1? That’s what I’m
running and it doesn’t seem to be doing anything for me…
