 * This problem was solved when deactivating the sitepress-multilingual-cms plugin(
   3.1.8.4).
    - nextgen-gallery 2.0.74
    - nextgen-gallery-plus 1.1.3

 * I have the same experience, and after some digging it seams like there is some
   issues with the CSS in the iframe.
    the body-tag has:
 * `visibility: hidden;`
    `opacity: 0;`
