 * Never mind. I noticed after this post that the table head column headings were
   aligned left in FF and Chrome but aligned center in IE. I figured out what code
   to put in custom css to do align left for the table head and once I did that 
   it changed the IE alignment and now the arrows are not overlapping the headings.
