In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Updating photosOk thanks.
The albums with name is foldername and subalbums if any are auto created if they do not already exist
Just so I understand you correctly are you saying the folder name in the depot must exactly match the name of the album? If so is this case sensitive and are spaces allowed?
I’m not sure what you mean about sub albums. I do have some top level albums with photos in them (People, Landscapes etc) and then I have 2 parent albums called ‘Other Albums’ and ‘Family Albums’ which have some sub albums within them e.g. ‘\Family Albums\My Birthday’. I’m not sure what you are saying about the folder structure for these.
And finally… just to repeat my question above:
Also, I cannot find a ‘Delete after successful import checkbox’. Where is this?

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Updating photosSorry for the extra questions but I wonder if you can recommend the best workflow for importing? My set up is as follows:
I edit photos in Lightroom (RAW) and then publish them from Lightroom to a folder on my hard drive which matches the name of the album I’ve created in WPPA. E.g. I have an album called landscapes and I publish to a folder called landscapes. I then use SmartFTP to upload these to the depot folder (keeping the folder structure within the depot folder).
Then I use the import function and set the source directory to be the sub folder I uploaded for the album e..g. …depot\landscapes. Then I set the default album to e.g. landscapes and then I click import (or update).
Please can you let me know if there is a better way to do this.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Updating photosOh I see. I had not appreciated the depot is just a temporary area for the duration of the import. So for all those pictures (and sub folders) I’ve imported already should I just delete them via my FTP access?

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Top Ten RatedRegarding the copy function and EXIF data then yes I certainly think the EXIF should be copied too. Otherwise there is no point using the copy function (unless you don’t care about EXIF). Instead you would just have to upload it again into the new album.
Really great work again. The featured photo is perfect for many photographers to pick out their best work to showcase on their home page.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Top Ten RatedOk I just found the new Featured photo function. This is nice but would it be possible to have an option for the POTD to just use featured photos?

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Top Ten RatedUpdate – just tried to copy some photos to a new album and the EXIF didn’t go with it so that’s not a solution for me. So maybe a virtual album would be the way to go.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Top Ten RatedSorry for not replying more quickly.
Having thought about it I think option a above would do the job nicely for me because that way I can display the top rated material really easily and I also have a way to ensure photos rated e.g. 1 or 2 are not displayed.
In terms of a Virtual Album, I just found the option in Album Admin to copy selected pictures to a different album so I would think this option would solve this niceley. The only downside maybe if you are actually creating a physical copy when we use this function as that would obviously affect disk space. I assume you don’t do that and just create a virtual copy in the new album.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Top Ten RatedYes I’ve found the setting for limiting the number of top ten. I’ve set it to 50 to be sure any picture I allocate a rating too are shown on the slideshow on my home page.
I want to be able to easily change which photos are included / excluded from this virtual album. Maybe an additional album function can be provided called ‘virtual album’ whereby you can allocate some SQL to say what will be included / excluded. I can imagine the user front end stuff to support that would be quite hard work so hopefully something simpler is possible.
I would think it would be quite a useful feature to be able to have a virtual album – basically all your favourite pics – in a slideshow on your front page as it’s a great way to show off your work. But it is the sort of thing you need to be able to adjust quite often.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Top Ten RatedI agree. Option a would be the neatest way to do this and hopefully quite easy. Thanks for considering it.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Using EXIF data in Description BoxOk, I’ve got it working nicely now. I just needed to select the ‘update’ switch when importing as you said earlier.

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Lightbox not on topA pal of mine helped me fix it and by editing the file wppa-style.css with the single line marked z-index as follows:
/* Slideshow */ .slide-frame { position: relative; width: 100%; padding: 0 !important; z-index: 1; /* This line of code is what fixed the z-index problem between lightbox and the slideshow! */ }Is that what you meant?

In reply to: [WP Photo Album Plus] Using EXIF data in Description BoxBtw I don’t resize any photos on import.
