    My Web host is Heart internet.

    The description is in tag 2#005. I’m not sure how you display only part of it. Here is the HTML I use for the description. You would just need to change the first line so it only shows so many characters of the description.

    2#005<br />
    <a href="javascript://" onClick="jQuery('.wppa-dtl').css('display', 'block'); jQuery('.wppa-more').css('display', 'none');">
    <div class="wppa-more">
    More info and Exif data
    </div>
    </a>
    <a href="javascript://" onClick="jQuery('.wppa-dtl').css('display', 'none'); jQuery('.wppa-more').css('display', 'block');">
    <div class="wppa-dtl" style="display:none;" >
    Hide info
    </div>
    </a>
    <div class="wppa-dtl" style="display:none;">
    <br />
    <style>
    .wppa-label { padding: 0 3px !important; border: none !important; }
    .wppa-value { padding: 0 3px 0 12px !important; border:none !important; }
    </style>
    <table style="margin:0; border:none;" >
    <tr><td class="wppa-label" >Caption</td><td class="wppa-value" >2#120</td></tr>
    <tr><td class="wppa-label" >Date Time Captured</td><td class="wppa-value" >E#9003</td></tr>
    <tr><td class="wppa-label" >Photographer</td><td class="wppa-value" >E#013B</td></tr>
    <tr><td class="wppa-label" >Copyright</td><td class="wppa-value" >E#8298</td></tr>
    <tr><td class="wppa-label" >Location</td><td class="wppa-value" >2#092, </td></tr>

    <tr><td class="wppa-label" >Aperture</td><td class="wppa-value" >E#829D</td></tr>

    <tr><td class="wppa-label" >Software</td><td class="wppa-value" >E#0131</td></tr>
    </table>
    </div>

    This link shows you how to do something similar to display EXIF and IPTC data. So I’m sure you could easily adapt that idea to show / hide the description instead.

    I’ve allowed debugging now.

    I’m not sure who my web host is as it was a friend set up the hosting package for me as he is a reseller. I asked him about the speed and he thought it was something to do with loading the pictures.

    So I guess the slowness is something to do with either:
    1. WPPA
    2. Web host
    3. Photocrati WP Theme?

    I’m not sure what a caching program is or if I have one active. Would that be a plug in?

    The only plug ins I have active are as follows:
    – Custom Contact Forms
    – Exclude Pages from Navigation
    – Social Media Icons Widget
    – WP-reCAPTCHA
    – WP Photo Album Plus
    – Simple Cart & Buy Now (now deactivated as I’m not using it)

    Perfect.

    Thanks.

    Is it possible to provide a future enhancement whereby pictures can be added to the album folder within the depot and WPPA will automatically update the picture if it already exists?

    Clearly the plug in knows the photo already exists because it reports the fact when attempting the import. So wouldn’t it be better to provide an option within the settings somewhere so users can say the photos should be updated instead of discarded in this situation?

    And another question sorry… I updated all the ITPC data on a whole album and re-uploaded the album folder by FTP to my new depot. In the import screen there was no option to update these photos, only import. I tried import and of course it just reported that the photo already exists so just removed the photos and folder from my depot. So how do I update photos in an album via this method? Does WPPA only do that if I drop the photos into the root of the depot rather than the album folder?

    Tried it and it works beautifully. I’m now assuming I’m ok to delete all the source files from my old depot.

    Just one further question about sub albums… When using lightroom I have one publish setting then I add an album under that setting and hit publish to create the folder for that album. Unless I create multiple publish settings (which I don’t want to do) the tree structure is flat – so all parent albums and sub albums are in the same folder. This is fine for me as it’s just the way Lightroom creates JPEGS from the raw file and pops them in a folder.

    Am I right in thinking that I can import new albums this way and then manually change them to be a sub album after WPPA creates them? And if I do this will WPPA be fine about managing subsequent updates to that album?

    Brilliant. Thanks so much for taking the time to explain so fully.

    Ok thanks for clarifying.

    Thats not what I’m seeing but I’m using a different path for the depot (../wp-content/uploads/gallery/uploads) and also I’m still on version 5.0.10 so I’ll change the path and upgrade and see what happens.

    Also i’ve still never seen a delete after successful import check box. All I see on the import page are check boxes for “Check/Uncheck all”, “Update existing photos” and “Do not create duplicates”.

    Just one furtehr question from above I’m still waiting for an answer on… Should I delete all the folders in my depot for albums I’ve already successfully imported? I’m assuming the depot is a temporary area and WPPA has created it’s own copy following the import?

    (@riggers)

    In my depot there are no files just lots of folders, which i’ve used to populate albums using my other method mentioned above.

    2#005 displays the title from the ITPC data. I’m using Lightroom 5. I was hoping to display the actual file name so people who contact me for a print can accurately tell me which photo they want. the problem with the title is that it’s not unique.

    I’m still struggling to follow this so hope you can help answer my questions above. I did upload a new folder full of photos to my depot then set the source to my depot and clicked import but it returned the message “No files to import.”
