 * Actually, I’ve just taken <?php comments_popup_script(); ?> out of the header,
   as I dont want the popup window.
 * Still no joy in getting the number of posted comments to dissplay on any page
   other than the index.

 * Firefox only displays the vertical scroll bar only when needed, in IE it’s always
   displayed. Hence, when Firefox detects a page that exceeds the vertical screen
   height, it “turns on” the vertical scrollbar giving the appearance of a page 
   shift.
