 * Unfortunately, the ‘Event Calendar WD’ won’t work for the church website. It
   has far more functionality than they need, which means it’s not as easy to use
   as your Spider Calendar.
 * One last note though. I just looked at your demo of the Spider Calendar (at [http://wpdemo.web-dorado.com/spider-calendar/](http://wpdemo.web-dorado.com/spider-calendar/)).
   The calendars on your demo page (including each of the Sidebar Calendar Widgets)
   are ALL missing the Left Arrow when viewed on my Cell Phones.
 * Best regards,
    Ric

 * [@support](https://wordpress.org/support/users/support/) Web-Dorado,
 * Thanks for the fix code.
 * It does appear as if the problem occurs on themes designed by WooThemes. It doesn’t
   happen when I switch to the default Twenty-Fifteen theme. The problem is that
   I won’t be managing the website. I just built it for a local church. And I really
   doubt that the non-tech savvy church member, who they assign to run this site,
   will have enough knowledge to make changes to calendar.php every time there’s
   an update. They’ll want something that’s easy. If it isn’t Spider Calendar, I’ll
   have to find something else.
 * Is it possible to add (to a future update) a check box that activates the required
   code if the user discovers it doesn’t look right on mobile devices? If you did,
   you would likely help out a lot of your users. Even if it only affects WooThemes’
   themes, that’s a lot of customers.
 * Best regards,
    Ric

 * Dear Support at Web-Dorado:
 * 1) The issue with the missing left arrow on the calendar has nothing to do with
   the amount or size of the text.
 * 2) You really should design this calendar around the fact that it will be filled
   with events (that’s what it’s for). An empty calendar may look better on mobile
   devices but it’s not very useful. And if the text is too large, it’s not my fault.
   I haven’t increased (or even adjusted) the text size; it looks bad on cell phones
   right out of the box.
 * 3) The site where I use the Spider Calendar is [http://thebible.church](http://thebible.church).
   You’ll notice, however, that it looks fine on mobile devices right now. That’s
   because I’m using an old version (version 1.4.20) that you already fixed for
   me. Yet, it becomes unresponsive again every time I install an update. In fact(
   though you may not remember), I gave you full admin privileges and even FTP access
   for over two weeks so your developers could troubleshoot and correct the issues.
 * 4) I don’t want to be completely negative. I still appreciate your fast and kind
   support. Also, I really like the Spider Calendar on desktops. I just wish you
   would make ‘responsiveness’ a higher priority.
 * Best regards,
    Ric

 * Thanks so much for taking the time to explain. In fact, there’s a lot of information
   there to digest. Chances are though–with my limited PHP programming knowledge–
   that I won’t be able to successfully get them to work together.
 * You should consider, however, adding a fix for it to a future WP-Members update.
   Brute Force Protect had become quite a popular plugin before Automattic acquired
   it. And now that it’s part of the Jetpack package, it should gain even more popularity.
   It would be a shame to make people choose between using WP-Members OR Jetpack
   Protect since both are useful.

 * I have to also disagree with the ‘lacks all usability’ statement. I’m running
   the free version on my church’s website. It works great and looks great. It also
   works well on mobile devices. Editing events is quick and easy.
 * The main advantage to purchasing the Pro version (in my opinion) is to be able
   to change the color scheme. But the default Blue Scheme works fine for my purposes.
   In fact you would expect the WebDorado folks to hold back tech support unless
   you first pay for the full version but that’s not how it is. Their excellent,
   one-day, tech support happens regardless of whether you have the paid or the
   free version. If there are any usability issues here, I don’t see them.

 * [@bcr8tive](https://wordpress.org/support/users/bcr8tive/),
 * As for me, the problem has been resolved with this last update. It works as advertised
   now. The only issue I can personally speak to is that it doesn’t work with the‘
   Theme My Login’ plugin. On one of my sites, I was using Theme My Login (TML)
   and Protect wouldn’t let me log in. After I deactivated TML, however, JetPack
   Protect worked fine.

 * Hi [@frankbiganski](https://wordpress.org/support/users/frankbiganski/),
 * Yes that was a good guess. I’m with InMotion and I really like them. I just hope
   they don’t, one day, become so big and popular that they get as bad as GoDaddy
   or BlueHost.
 * IMHO, you shouldn’t have a problem showing off your beautiful, Virginia homes
   with any of the packages. None of the their plans cap your resources or number
   of visitors.
 * I went with the Power plan because I like to have Test websites that I can experiment
   with. Actually, I would have been fine with the cheaper Launch Package (because
   it still gives you 2 websites and 25 subdomains). Unfortunately, it only permits
   you to have 2 databases. To me 2 databases means only 2 websites–unless someone
   knows a way to install WordPress without a database.
 * Therefore, I chatted with InMotion support to get them to sell me the Launch
   Package but with more databases. After all, there’s a big difference between
   the Launch plan’s 2 databases and the Power plan’s 50 databases. It just so happened
   they were running a special at the time. So I ended up getting the Power package
   for about the same price as the Launch package. Now, I’m running my live eCommerce
   site, two testbed sites, a new website for the church (thebible.church), and
   a website for my son–who’s playing around with building his own WordPress website.
   Yet, now that I’m used to having all of these websites to play with, I’ll have
   to stick with the Power plan (i.e. $9.99 per month) when it’s time to renew in
   a couple of years.

 * Jeremy,
 * It looks as if the latest Jetpack release fixed my issues (can’t speak for anyone
   else of course). This update lets me log in each time now. The only minor issue
   I have is that it ‘Always’ asks me to Prove my Humanity–but after I solve the
   math question, it lets me log in. I would think that Whitelisting my IP should
   prevent this step. I guess the ‘Protectors’ really don’t like my IP address.
   Anyway, it basically works. So, thanks for your help.

    Ric Esrey

 * Can you get into the database through phpMyAdmin? If you can, find the table
   that is labled _options (it should say ‘something and end with _options). Under
   that table is a row with the option_name called active_plugins. It may not be
   on the first page, so you’ll have to look for it. Once you find the active_plugins,
   you’ll see the option_value text box with a list of all of your active plugins.
   I select all (ctrl-a) and cut (ctrl-x) all of the active plugins from this text
   box. Then save. This doesn’t delete your plugins. It just deactivates them all.
 * After this, you should be able to log in–it’s always worked for me. Once I’m
   in, I paste (ctrl-v) the active plugins back into the active_plugins row of the
   _options table and hit ‘save.’ That way, my plugins are back to where they started–
   with the difference being that now I’m logged in and can make needed changes.
 * I hope this helps but you may not want to do this if you’re uncomfortable editing
   your database.
    Ric

 * Hey Jeremy,
 * The changes didn’t work for me. I didn’t get the error msg this time but it still
   would not let me log in. This is what happens:
 * I can log in and log out one time. The next time I log out and try to log in,
   I get the message: Please solve this math problem to prove that you are not a
   bot. Once you solve it, you will need to log in again.
 * Prove your humanity: 10 + 10 = ?
 * So, I solve the problem (I believe the answer is 20). When I do, it takes me
   back to my home screen–but I’m still logged out. So I try to log in again. This
   time I get a different math question. I solve it and it returns me, again, to
   my home screen–but I’m still logged out. In short, Protect lets me answer math
   questions all day, but it won’t let me log in.
 * BTW, the IP Whitelisting feature still doesn’t work.
 * Hope this helps,
    Ric
