 * I decided there is too much risk to my doing the upgrade. Too steep a learning
curve, not enough time to learn it. My email is [ralphpars@gmail.com](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ralph3/replies/ralphpars@gmail.com?output_format=md)
   Thanks, Ralph

 * Well I found the email with my login info for CPanel and was able to get into
it. Now I can go back and look at the video and take notes. Your right about
learning new stuff. I hope that it isn’t true what they say about old dogs and
   new tricks.

 * I really don’t have time to be a code jock, I am trying to make some money on
the internet but they are making me jump over a lot of hurdles. I guess it is
the price you have to pay. If I can pay someone a reasonable fee to do this I
   will. Thanks for the advice.

 * The way I understand this is that after you get to WP 2.7 the updates are mostly
automatic. The problem is getting that far. I looked at the video recommended
by Figero and it is using CPanel which I don’t have. I did download an FTP program
but I can’t log into my WP Site on port 21 with my credentials. I don’t blame
WP as FTP port are vunerable but there should be a work around.

 * Well I guess I just don’t understand WordPress. I get the impression that it
is an application to edit webpages. It runs on someone’s server. I don’t have
a server. I have a webpage on a server that has WordPress installed on it for
use by the webpage owner (Me). The version that I am using is 2.5 and it keeps
bugging me to upgrade but who ever wrote up the instructions keeps bouncing back
and forth between installing and upgrading the server and what I can use. It
is pretty confusing. I don’t imagine that I would have that level of access to
the server anyway. Please let me know what my options are and where I can get
   the information. Thanks, Ralph
