    I tried changing all too:

 * Thanks- I missed your post about it earlier.
 * Both those problems are not important to me. My real concern is at what point
   this plugin will break, since I plan to keep my WP install updated.

 * Just to follow up, I think this problem was caused by using GoLive. Actually,
   editing and ftp is okay but its not a good idea to drag the WordPress folder 
   into a Golive site window.
    Hope this helps somebody.

 * Yes, also tried deleting everything and doing a fresh install with a new database.
   
   I have a wp install on my local webserver that works fine with the same file.
   Could it have something to do with the virtual hosting set up of my web hosting
   company? thanks for the reply
