I am a grandfathered in user to live rates.

What used to happen is that I could turn on what I mentioned and so I could choose a larger box if I needed to ship in a larger box.

When I flip that setting, nothing changes for my customers and they are only shown the smallest shipping box option, not every shipping option – flat rate padded envelope, flat rate medium, flat rate large.

    Hi again,

I didn’t rename anything. I just selected three shipping options for the USPS shipping option. Two flat rates, USPS flat rate padded envelope and USPS medium flat rate box (top loading). I have also included First Class Package to give a shipping option that’s reasonable if someone wants to buy one bar of soap or a couple of light things so they may possibly have a cheap option for shipping.

Military addresses are considered still in the US in the eyes of the postal service. For AE (armed forces Europe), they get shipped to Chicago and picked up by the military and distributed by the military to post offices on military bases staffed by military personnel(unless it’s a war zone camp then?). I know this first hand because my spouse is in the military and we just got back from oconus (outside continental US) in AE for the last 4 years. The only difference is that the receiving country requires a customs form. They AE,AS,AP type addresses to obfuscate where military personnel and operations are happening. I’m not sure if AA and AP addresses get their military hand-off out of Chicago.

Ship station just handled it the way I put it in, did you not catch that side of my story? I manually entered the order with the address, put in the flat rate shipping price, paid through her payment link, and then headed over to shipstation, pointed the postage to flat rate padded envelope, paid the posted and printed my label and insert. For some reason woo is not understanding that flat rate works with AE, AS, AP addresses.

The Business Development Specialist (My Contact) for USPS for Eastern Washington State and Northern Idaho just confirmed that they do ship flat rate to Armed Forces locations and that it’s your system that has decided not to deal with them? Or the customs forms? Or it’s a bug?

My spouse is military and a lion’s share of our sales are military, so this is a problem since every three to four years it’s up in the air whether our customers will be sent OCONUS to an AE, AP, or an AA – All addresses that your system accepts. How do we proceed?

    Hello Happiness Engineer!!!

Actually I’m not sure the option to ship flat rate to an Armed Forces Europe (AE) was ever there for her. I took the customer’s word as we’ve been friends for a couple of years, but looking through to her last orders they were all First Class Package Service, yet I was able to create her flat rate label in shipstation just fine and I can go to usps.com and use the click-n-ship tool and start a flat rate label to an AE address without issue – I have an email out to my USPS shipping contact to triple check, but as I mentioned I did create a manual order an assign it a flat rate manually in shipstation and I’m pretty sure if they allow me to make the label it’s kosher, no? and it’s also a customs form – Perfection! But completely impractical work flow considering it took over an hour out of my day and an international phone call. 😀

When I toggle between a US address and an AE address the flat rate option drops off. I use my address for billing then toggle the shipping address with the ‘shipping to a different address?’ checkbox set to the fpo ae. I think it’s just a logic error in the system that no one seems to care about or notice?

In the settings for the payment method, select delayed capture. That’s what’s its called in square at least. WC->settings->Payments->square->manage

I believe this is what you’re looking for?

I’m not sure I’d call it an auto complete. It’s just the standard workflow of an online store?

I figured it out. The USPS must have made WC change their allowable shipping formats.
