 * Found it! Just the cat_ID number … nothing else, just the digit.

 * I second that … I only need to exclude one category and it’s not excluding what
I entered. Is there a specific way I need to add a category to exclude it? I’ve
tried the slug and the name ~ neither works?

 * I read that too and I also find it is not true ~ at least not as is at the time
the comment was made. Apparently it’s a big secret because no one will answer
   any inquiries about it either.

 * The br doesn’t show in Netscape either so it must be a Mozilla thang. (not that
   this helps you any 🙁

 * It’s using Fantastico ~ normally if someone downloads wp they can then change
the config file prior to install but because I was using Fantastico I don’t actually
even have a copy of the config file prior to install. Thanks for hanging in there
with me on this one. Gotta just do it manually for all subsequent copies which
   require db sharing.

 * I’m totally confused ~ some of it’s syntax. This cannot be as simple as changing
the table prefix in the config.php & running install.php again. Is there something
   else?
I don’t know what Fantastico does technically behind the UI but it runs
the WP install and simply asks if you want to install in a sub-dir & sets up
admin username/pw & email username/pw ~ nothing fancy there. I did end up with
the wp files in sub-dir /book & two sets of tables. After that I get a page of
errors & now I can’t even log into the first blog I setup. I’m at a total loss
since my initial install worked just fine ~ I had already made several entries
after install ~ so it’s most likely not my host. Am I supposed to change the
table prefix back after the second blog?

 * I clicked anyway and did not explode. It did run through the install again and
create another set of tables. I was under the impression I was going to end up
with another instance but this is not really. I did get another copy, so to speak,
but I can’t admin login. I checked the config for the password and that is ok
but the user name is the database name not the user name that I entered prompted
by the fantastico install. Anyone out there gone through this already?

 * I am all over this!! It renders just fine as is in Netscape 7.1. Using Ctrl-+/-
to resize has a behavior unlike the other two behiviors I have seen ~ the calendar
expands over the main col. With all other templates I have seen either 1) calendar
gets ‘lopped off’; or 2) calendar expands into ‘alley’. I’m ok with this new
   way.
I am going to load up a new copy of WP using this template right now &
I’ll report back when I’m done. Thanks much!! ~ signed Big3ColFan

 * Thanks for all the input. Catagories/sub-cats for books & chapters using semantic
titles may work since I am not absolutely sure of the order when it comes to
certain details of the material. Is this ‘display entries by page’ a feature
using a simple PHP line of code?
It’s not that I’m just writing 5 or 7 separate
books in series ~ the material is connected. Here is more on what I am attempting
to do: Say I am describing 5 closed systems or processes. Each has a beginning,
a middle and an end. The separate middles of each of these systems become intertwinded.
There is a point where this middle becomes a separate ‘entity’ in and of itself.
This has an affect on the anticipated outcome of each of the separate systems.
The end result as a whole ends up being totally different than planned ~ say
there are now 10 separate outcomes. Ok ~ I am going to write about the 5 separate
systems up to each of their middle point. I don’t want to have to write about
the middle mess 5 separate times ~ just once. I want a reader to be able to start
with any beginning (1,2,3,4 or 5) and get to the common middle part. From there
they can end up going down one of the 10 outcomes. In some way it would be more
like taking a reading on a tour of a complex knowledgebase. Should I be using
something like Drupal instead? This seems like a CMSs dream project ~ I just
don’t want to have to write in MS Word and then do all the markup separately.
Any input? oh, and dss ~ “Self-centeredness is a disease!” I’d have to agree.

 * I’ve noticed that there are two behaviors with the calendar for WP when the increasing
the page using Ctrl-+/- and that is 1) it simply move into the alley or 2) it
moves under the alley and cannot be seen. In Netscape 7.1, the cal on this site
stays visable. Everything else seems to size faily well with Netscape too.

 * Well the style is working just fine in Netscape 7.1 (& I am personally very attracted
to the drawing tools with fin & face, really, I am.)

 * Ok, thanks podz. Next Q: The most frequent instruction to have more than one
copy of WP share a db is generally something like this: ‘change the $table_prefix
in your wp_config.php file for each when setting them up.’ Is this right? My
host offers Fantastico so when I did an initial install I didn’t really have
to do anything. I want both methods of “multiple” copies too ~ two that share
a db and three that have separate dbs ~ so I just want to make sure I’ve got
it straight before I dive in. Thanks!

 * That’s what I thought initially. I wanted some input to see if I was going for
the short and easy route which may be more trouble later if I want to vary my
   output. Thanks for the feed.
