 * I think I found the solution to using this excellent plug-in with Gutenberg blocks–
   like the OP I couldn’t see how to call it up. What works for me is:
 * (1) insert a ‘classic’ block
 * (2) Hit the “add media” icon on the classic block toolbar
 * (3) Click “Create Gallery”
 * … and then all of the familiar options come up!
