 * I ran into this problem as well…very nasty issue to troubleshoot.
 * I did not find problems with the php files. However, after deactivating the plugs,
   I did found that if you run WordPress 2.3.2 using Yahoo Services the Customizable
   Permalinks plug-in causes the problem. Deactivating the plug in resolved the 
   issue
