 * Wow – I was just about to post the exact same question. I’m a musician, and would
   like an easy way to link to my tunes from a posting. Obviously, an HTTP upload
   won’t work, ‘cuz these are multi-megabyte files. I’ve looked at a few of the 
   WP upload plugins/hacks, but I’m not seeing anything quite like this. I’d like
   to see it as part of the “write” panel – something like a “browse for file” button
   that would open a browser window – click a link in this new window and that URL
   would be pasted into the text area.
 * Any ideas?
