They’ve just gone invisible. * That seems like a buggy sort of thing to me, and perhaps someone might take a look at repairing it? I go to the Appearances/Menu and try to edit one of the menu names in the Menu Structure column. It all looks fine, I click Save, no errors, no warnings, looks like it should have worked. * Only it doesn’t. The name is not changed; the edit I made does not show up. I am running 3.8.2 on Thesis. I’ve tried quitting my browser, viewing in other browsers, etc. My update is not taking. * I am not having any other problems. I have no problems editing Pages, adding Posts, etc. Just the Menu problem. The cause has been discovered, but it hasn’t been fixed. The problem goes away when I remove all use of the italics command( ) from my widgets and comments. I renamed my child _again_, and switched back to twentyten. Everything is restored as it was, before this little adventure. Yay! * I believe I _did_ have an upgrade somewhere since I created this (it’s only been up since early Dec.).. I did not notice, but maybe that was the trigger for the problem. Will look at the link you’ve shared when my brain fog has cleared a bit. * And I will certainly attempt to create a child theme again; I really don’t want things blowing up just because there’s an upgrade. However, if I use a _different_ theme (maybe, as you suggest, 2010 Weaver or Suffusion), would that pre-empt me having to create a child? * Thanks SO much, esmi.
