I am not sure about this, but : Thumbnails may have broken after I activated a cache plugin. (Image compression was not enabled). Even though I deactivated and deleted the plugin, the thumbnails are still looking grey. So I have to provide them user ID’s in the embed code * Note : I don’t actually have to use the shortcode.
