 * All i can say right now is that Otto has been one of the most “un” helpful moderators
   i have ever encountered.
 * We realize that wordpress is a free product but it’s also supposed to be something
   that the average it joe can setup and get running with minimal fuss.
 * when it was working on previous versions and i have my own server that i’m running
   this on and i say nothing has changed, then it would be nice to know BEFORE i
   upgrade that something has changed on the wordpress side of things that MIGHT
   cause some problems on my upgrade.
 * guess i’m going back to 2.65 for awhile until this is figured out.
    funny how
   there is a 4 page post about these problems but in otto’s world this is just
   a minor problem in the community.

 * > Well, first, I’d say to figure out what the problem is, and then tell us that.
 * that’s not really helpful.
    i said in my post that nothing changed with my server
   AT ALL from 2.7 to 2.71 EXCEPT the actual upgrade.
 * so i didn’t change anything that should be causing a problem.
 * whatever is new in the code from 2.7.1 is what’s causing the problem.
 * is that really hard to understand?
 * and there is no way for me to determine what was changed in the code with 2.7.1

 * hey otto-
 * i’ve changed ABSOLUTELY nothing aside from going from 2.7 to 2.71 on my own server.(
   my server runs win2003 server and WAMP)
 * and the admin section completely slowed down to a crawl.
    like i said i did nothing
   else. i didn’t install any other plugins, change any files or anything.
 * so how can i explain that it works like this now?
 * i then proceeded to remove all my plugins and it didn’t help at all in the admin
   section.
 * the main site works fine, but the admin is almost unusable.
 * so what do i do?

 * yeah this is borderline ridiculous.
    seems like so many people are having this
   issue yet i don’t see anyone from the wordpress side of things owning up to anything?
 * i hate to have to downgrade but i’m almost being forced to. i can’t wait 2 minutes
   for my admin dashboard to load.
 * and none of these “temp hacks” seem to work for me.
 * ARGHHH!
