 * It turned out indeed there was a problem with the cookie wall plugin that was
   used in the WordPress installation. Stupid European cookie laws…
    I’m so sorry
   for all the stupid question, thanks a lot for the help and I’m really happy with
   the plugin itself!

 * I’m logged in with the same Apple ID as I created the podcast with, so on my 
   device it updates within seconds. So I can tell you it still gives the same error.
   And on Mac it worked since day 1, that’s the strange thing about it…

    I also tried to upload the audio file as AAC (as advised by 
   Apple) but still no result.
 * So I’m still very curious what you mean by the redirect my Cookies prompt makes
   use of.

 * I also contacted Apple’s podcast support about the issue and this was their reply:
   
   _I did confirm that it will not play on iOS. I took a closer look at the RSS
