  • So ahrefs is blocking Russian IP addresses. This is terrible. Why are you doing this?

I have also been using this feature to block a few existing urls, such as /wp-login.php. My .htaccess only allows my own IP address range to log in. And I enter my IP into the following fields:

    1. “Trusted proxies” under “How does Wordfence get IPs”
    2. “List of comma separated IP addresses to ignore”
    3. “Whitelisted IP addresses that bypass all rules”
    4. “Ignored IP addresses for Wordfence Web Application Firewall alerting”

I can still login while blocking everyone else. Thanks for posting your list. I am wondering if WordFence has their own recommendations for the “Immediately block IPs that access these URLs” field. Thanks.

Thanks for your response. I have re-installed WordPress. I’ll wait and see if there are more error messages.

Please give an example how to do this.

    Is it:
    define('$slp_redirect', '/wp-login');
    define('$slp_authorization', 'xyz123456');
    Thanks

My web host explained to me that they could not update the PHP on the server I was on because many of their customers had plugins that would break if they did. They offered to move my files to a new server with PHP 5.5.21, so I did that. I am just happy WP-SpamShield is working again. In hindsight, it could have been a caching issue. You can chalk this one up to a false alarm.

I understand your desire to discredit me and simultaneously appear professional and creditable yourself.

You claim that my previous review of your RS Head Cleaner Plus was based on faulty information. This is incorrect. To wit:

After installing this plugin, I had a periodic problem with the CSS disappearing from the home page, and it looked terrible. At first I thought it was my caching plugin. After removing RS Head Cleaner Plus, this problem was completely eliminated.

    And:

I must point out that the plugin does not uninstall properly and leaves this folder on the server:
    public_html/wp-content/rshcp-cache
which contains 2 subfolders with dozens of files in each.

No faulty information there, just facts.

I don’t appreciate your innuendo. For the record, I have given your WP-SpamShield Anti-Spam plugin a 5 star review; perhaps that review was based on faulty information?

Concerning Scrapebreaker breaking multisites, in your defense you say:

Nowhere in the documentation do we claim that the plugin is for use with multisite, or multisite compatible.

This is a ‘crime’ of omission; here you are clearly at fault for omitting the fact that Scrapebreaker is NOT multisite compatible. Another thing you speak of is proper etiquette. Do you think it is proper etiquette to give your own plugin a 5 star review?

Thanks for pointing out that a 301 error is server side generated. This warrants further investigation of both the plugin and Google webmaster tools. In the case of Scrapebreaker, I give the benefit of the doubt and raise my 2 star rating to 3.

I tried to place code between <span></span> tags, but it has no effect. HTML Code, Hexadecimal Code and HTML Entity for ASCII characters are converted. Unfortunately, I can’t paste the code here because it will be converted here as well.

Hi Peter, I have installed the update. So far no error messages. Thanks again.

Hi jrf, thank you for the encouragement!

I have been searching high and low, but still no luck finding a plugin or any other way to use this plugin. I’ve all but given up… unless you can provide a specific suggestion, of course. Thanks.

I would love to do a backtrace, but I am not a coder or programmer. I do not know php and I do not understand regular expressions. Unfortunately, I have not the required ability or knowledge to do a backtrace so I guess I am SOL.

If this error is caused by someone trying to run a plugin script behind the back of WordPress, so to speak, how can I prevent any or all plugin from running outside of WordPress? I mean there must be an across the board solution, right?

Or, perhaps there is no risk and it is only the error message itself that is a problem?

How would I secure my plugin directories in .htaccess while still allowing access by WordPress? Thanks!

    To address your previous comment

Its important to understand that not all code can be minified and still work right. In the FAQs I posted this right from the get go that users may need to try RS Head Cleaner Lite if they had any issues with Plus.

When the CSS disappeared from the home page I had no way of knowing it was RS Head Cleaner Plus that was causing the problem since the plugin was installed a week or so before with no apparent issues, so I was unable to follow your advice about trying RS Head Cleaner Lite. I suspected my cache plugin because when I deleted the cache (and also my browser cache), the problem would go away. This problem gave me grief and a headache for about two weeks with a recurring messed up home page, before I guessed it was caused by the rshcp plugin. I think it would be a good idea to specifically mention this possibility in your FAQ.

I stand by my review and I must point out that the plugin does not uninstall properly and leaves this folder on the server:
    public_html/wp-content/rshcp-cache
which contains 2 subfolders with dozens of files in each.
