    Hi Motion Blocks team,

Thanks for looking into this. I have isolated the problem to the previous version of WordPress: https://core.trac.wordpress.org/ticket/56855 the issue has since been resolved. Appreciate your assistance nonetheless!

    Hi Anders,

Many thanks for the instructions! All good now…

    Hi Anders,

I am not sure if this is related to the index issue above, but when I update to Version 0.3 of the theme, all my homepage content is affected. I believe something in Version 0.3 breaks the FSE and blocks? A rollback to 0.2.6 solves the issue.

    Many thanks for your assistance!

    Dear all,

Just an update – I have just troubleshooted the issue with my host and I found that ModSecurity module is the problem – it also caused trouble with editing of pages. If you encounter a similar problem, do try disabling the firewall in cPanel. Hope this helps!

    Good day,

    Hi Anders,

Thank you for the speedy response! It seems you were right – I disabled the Lazy Load function on Jetpack and it now loads fine. Thank you for your assistance!

    Hi Anders,

Thank you for the reply and hope you had a restful labour day weekend.

The issues are now fixed, thank you for the fast response and the theme looks splendid! I will enjoy it for a long time to come. Will leave a note in the forum if I spot any other issues.

Once again, appreciate all the work you are doing – WordPress has a bright future thanks to the tireless efforts of contributors like yourself.

    Gday,

    Thanks for your speedy reply!

I’ve cleared the cache, reset Chrome on Android yet the issue persists on my phone.

Strangely, it also occurs when I load the page incognito or on the Samsung Internet app. (This is a Samsung S10 Plus by the way, I’m not sure if the extra-narrow screen width has any relation to the issue.)

I can’t seem to replicate the issue on my Mac desktop even with the window resized real narrow (which activates the menu modal).

Are there other things I should look into? The only other plugins I have installed are Jetpack, Really Simple SSL, Gutenberg and Akismet.

Here’s a video I captured of the issue:

    Sorry for the trouble…

Edited to add – it seems that when I click on social icons, it does not launch those hyperlinks as well now. (This is happening on Chrome on Android)

    Hi Anders,

Truly grateful. Certainly understand you’ve been caught up with work! I have explored WordPress 5.3 and the new Twenty Twenty theme you helped design. It looks marvellous! Thank you for your work and kind assistance.

+1 for @andreasmartin’s suggestion of “Cover & Full Width”. That would bring Chaplin in line with Twenty Nineteen I believe…

    Hi @anlino,

    Thank you again!

Oh yes, making the content justified to the extreme corner in align full makes sense then. Thanks for the detailed explanations, I’m trying to wrap my head around the new system as well.

Yes, Twenty Nineteen is beautiful and if all the kinks in Gutenberg are ironed out, this will be brilliant. Alas, as Oscar Wilde wrote: “They’ve promised that dreams can come true – but forgot to mention that nightmares are dreams, too.”

    Ha ha. All the best!

    Hi @anlino,

Thank you for this very speedy fix! It works now. Just FYI, although the group-wide block is now fine with paras, I thought I’d be helpful and I did a test on other blocks. I found issues with the following full-width group/block configurations:

    —-
    PARAS
[Wide group [para justified none]] NOW WORKS FINE
[Wide group [para justified left]] NOW WORKS FINE
[Wide group [para justified right] NOW WORKS FINE
[Wide group [para justified centre]] NOW WORKS FINE
    —-
[Full width group [para justified none]] PARA GOES TO EXTREME LEFT
[Full width group [para justified left]] PARA GOES TO EXTREME LEFT
[Full width group [para justified right]] PARA GOES TO EXTREME RIGHT
[Full width group [para justified centre]] WORKS FINE
    —-
    QUOTES
[Full width group [quote justified none]] QUOTE GOES TO EXTREME LEFT
[Full width group [quote justified left]] QUOTE GOES TO EXTREME LEFT
[Full width group [quote justified right]] QUOTE GOES TO EXTREME RIGHT
[Full width group [quote justified centre]] WORKS FINE
    —-
    PULLQUOTES
[Full width group [pullquote justified none]] WORKS FINE
[Full width group [pullquote justified left]] QUOTE GOES TO EXTREME LEFT
[Full width group [pullquote justified right]] QUOTE GOES TO EXTREME RIGHT
[Full width group [pullquote justified wide]] NOT VERY CENTRED IN PAGE, ABIT FLUSH LEFT
[Full width group [pullquote justified full]] NOT VERY CENTRED IN PAGE, ABIT FLUSH LEFT
    ____
    COLUMNS
[Full width 2 columns [para justified none]] PARA GOES TO EXTREME LEFT ON LEFT COLUMN, RIGHT COLUMN WORKS FINE
[Full width 2 columns [para justified left]] PARA GOES TO EXTREME LEFT ON LEFT COLUMN, RIGHT COLUMN WORKS FINE
[Wide width 2 columns [para justified right]] WORKS FINE
[Wide width 2 columns [para justified centre]] WORKS FINE
[Full width group 2 columns[para justified none]] PARA GOES TO EXTREME LEFT ON LEFT COLUMN
[Full width group 2 columns[para justified left]] PARA GOES TO EXTREME LEFT ON LEFT COLUMN
[Full width group 2 columns[para justified right]] PARA GOES TO EXTREME RIGHT ON RIGHT COLUMN
[Full width group 2 columns[para justified centre]] WORKS FINE
    * If I full-width group the columns, everything breaks.
    —-
    HEADINGS
[Wide width group [heading of any size]] WORKS FINE
[Full width group [heading of any size]] HEADING GOES TO EXTREME LEFT
    —-
    VERSES
[Full width group [verse para justified none]] VERSE GOES TO EXTREME LEFT
[Full width group [verse para justified left]] VERSE GOES TO EXTREME LEFT
[Full width group [verse para justified right]] VERSE GOES TO EXTREME RIGHT
[Full width group [verse para justified centre]] WORKS

Alas, that is one hell of a lot of fixes… the terror of Gutenberg – on an unrelated note, I realised the Classic Block Editor is also broken 😮Anyhow, truly appreciate your kind assistance and hard work in getting the fixes out so quickly.

    Good day,
    Nicholas

    Hi @anlino,

Thank you for that speedy reply and your kind assistance.

Unfortunately, my site is still in MAMP at the moment. Not sure if these are helpful, but here are some screenshots of the issue via my Dropbox: https://bit.ly/2YHL7Wm

Basically, a wide-width group with nested paragraph (text centred) makes the nested paragraph align left, while the full-width group sends the nested paragraph (text centred) to the extreme left of the site.

Perhaps this is a quirk / bug / block compatibility issue with Gutenberg?

Strange problem indeed! I tried it with Google Chrome and the problem goes away… I cannot begin to understand why this problem should persist, because a large amount of people on the web use Safari. It seems the problem also occurs on Internet Explorer…

Hey there, I am using the latest version of Safari – 5.1.2 and updated to the newest Flash build available. I’m running OSX Snow Leopard. I keep them updated whenever the dialogue pops up. It’s strange… I’ve had the uploads stop at 13%, 26% and so on each time, but the upload never completes except in the old browser uploader. My files are only a few hundred KBs large, not more than 8MB, and no error message comes up.
