I have raised a very similar issue – same behaviour and problems with a different API call. i.e. The call to [https://public-api.wordpress.com/rest/v1/me](https://public-api.wordpress.com/rest/v1/me) works fine, but then a following call with the site ID does not. But very recently when I try and authorize a client I get an error reporting: “Someone may be trying to trick you into giving them access to your site. Or it could be you just encountered a bug :). Either way, please close this window.” * My client app authorizes just fine against a wordpress.com blog, but not against a self-hosted one using the Jetpack JSON API. * My initial findings point to a problem in Jetpack 3.0.2. * I removed Jetpack 3.0.2 and installed 3.0.1. My client app can authorize correctly against my site now. * Obviously this is not ideal, as people using my app against their own sites will likely have an up to date version of Jetpack. The API and my client app have been working fine for me until very recently. Now I get the following message when the redirect should be taking place: “Someone may be trying to trick you into giving them access to your site. Or it could be you just encountered a bug :).
