It isn’t in the database for example. And if it isn’t available, how about adding it as a feature? * I know how to troubleshoot; e.g., to use phpmyadmin to drop tables, turn off plugins and change userIDs and passwords. I also have access to a file manager in cPanel that I have already used to edit the .htaccess file, and read the error_log. I was able to resolve the problem and so want to advise you of the problem. For some reason the WP installation was seeing my login IP as the server IP. That IP was blocked due to numerous spam submissions through my contact us form. * From this I learned to always add the server IP to the Whitelist. Same result with a WP theme that I know works with Cerber. Only thing left is something at the host, how they operate Apache perhaps? I asked them to investigate. The host denied it was the problem. I read your post over carefully. I guess I can fix my problem now that I understand how to modify wp-config. I have index.php silence is golden set for the install directory. I thought the purpose of that was to stop directory scanning? I’ve reviewed the dummies book. It was published in 2011. I hadn’t thought of the problem of WP evolving and books being static, but I can see that would probably frustrate my Dad. I’ll look on Amazon for a more recent dummy style book with good reviews as suggested.
