 * yeah, that’s exactly what I have.
    is there a possibility it’s a 2.5.1 compatibility
   issue?

 * My blog is [http://www.constructedconsciousness.net](http://www.constructedconsciousness.net)(
   not published yet) and the 4 themes I tried are artificial, washme-inverted-10,
   yellow-3-10, and newtheme (I dragged the contents of extracted theme folder architects-
   35 into the newtheme folder i created to see if that would work).

 * I can of course create new folders within Cyberduck though. i actually tried
   moving the WP files into a subfolder to see if that would work (and used the
   appropriate url in a browser afterwards) but I still got the Error 404 message.

 * The folder has no name, just the picture of the folder and /
    1and1 assigned
   me my FTP info and does’t allow me to assign an FTP directory name. So the only
   folder available when I connect is this unnamed folder (/)

 * Because I didn’t want to install the WP stuff in a subfolder, I just dragged
   all the WP files to the main remote site pane in Cyberduck (as instructed by
   Booth’s guide) – that pain already contained a few folders from the existing
   site. This remote site pane is the first pane that comes up when I connect to
   my FTP. I’m assuming this is the correct root directory?

 * Thanks – yeah, I’ve checked that all the WP files and folders are on my FTP.
   But the three folders are called wp-admin, wp-content, and wp-includes. Should
   I get rid of the wp-config-sample.php?
    I’m a little scared to delete all the
   WP files from the FTP and re-upload them in case I also delete any files from
   my existing website…
