Problem solved here. If you are concerned that a spam bot may harvest an email address > you used in your meta description we would recommend not including the email > there. > Wherease many spam bots are looking for mailto: tags to find email addresses, > we unfortunately cannot anticipate what amount of page data a bot uses to find > new email addresses. * In conclusion: – Yoast do not encrypt email addresses in the meta descriptions– mailto: tags are the major spam factor and mentionning only the email adresses(“***@***.**”) is not as risky, but not 100% sure either. Do you agree? * Thanks a lot for your support/time and for this great plugin. ‘Just tried the[ encode][/encode] shortcode feature in order to encode “tel:” links and it works well too.
