Whenever installing backwpup, make sure you use a working e-mail address on your job and make sure that it emails you for ALL backups (both successful and unsuccessful ones). This way you’ll get pounded with emails if this happens to you. * 2. I am using W3 Total Cache. I have a feeling that this is causing something to happen continually, perhaps when caches get flushed. * 3. This happens on multiple servers for me. VPS, shared, etc. But all are Linux. * 4. I understand it’s open source, but you have created a plugin that is devastating servers and took one of mine down with its errant processes last night. * I just woke up with 233 e-mails – a server had been gzipping all night long and was on its knees. It’s not a horrible thing until you fail to claim responsibility in helping fix the problem. * I am also not the only person having these problems, so clearly it is not just me. * Not everyone will be moving to 3.2 immediately. I’ve had MULTIPLE accounts get flooded with too many backups (forgot to set max # files), and it’s crushing my servers. * This is going on like crazy when using the built-in WP-Cron settings. It’s in 3.1.2 and 3.1.3. * Daniel PLEASE look into this. It seems that BackWPup is getting called a ton of times. * It could be WP-Cron’s fault, I’m not sure. Either way, there’s a massive bug and it needs to be diagnosed. * I can provide access to a site that is having this issue if you like. I found out because I ran out of space. That server must have gotten clobbered. * The best way to see what’s happening is to have yourself get e-mailed even when there are no errors. Was digging around and realized that disabling W3TC’s Minify and enabling WP-Minify was super simple. I’m an SEO and it’s simply not worth it in terms of risk/reward. And….. DENIED BY BAD BEHAVIOR. * If you have ANY interest in SEO (which you should), you should NOT use this plugin. Even if it blocks just a very small percentage of Google’s datacenters, it is not worth it!!!! My stronger sites could probably power through that, but my newer/weaker sites couldn’t. This particular site is not ranking for ANYTHING. * Deactivated and Deleted on all sites. On my 3.0.5 site, I simply have NO menu. The div is “ hidden” and when I unhide it in firebug, it still doesn’t show up.
