Found the problem! There is a conflict with the (Admin and Site Enhancements (ASE) for WordPress-plugin! When deactivated, Desktop mode works fine again.
Maybe you can look into this?
no errors at all…simply a blank canvas and standard WP admin menü, nothing else.

Was caching issue in Safari AND chrome browsers!

Rolling back to 1.9.8 did not even help.
Other identical installations on my server are running fine with Elementor…
